School smoking prevention program in classes for 3-5. grades.


For schools, teacher's manual, text assistance and the interactive presentation with pictures, animations, film parts could be downloaded from the NIHD registration homepage (http://reg.oefi.hu/)by using private user name and password. Puppets are coordinated to schools by the Regional Offices of Public Health and Medical Officer Service.

Awareness-raising facts of the Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2008:
  • In our country more than half of the 13-15 years old students have tied cigarette during their life.
  • In those who has tied cigarette or regular smokers every fifth get the first puff before ten.
  • Around one fourth of students smoke currently.
  • Every fifth non smoker students think that they would smoke in the future.
WHO has underlined the importance of school smoking prevention in the Article 12 of Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.**
